I woke before Kisho, did Wordle and Connections in bed like it was a normal day, then dressed and snuck down the long, red hallway to the MKT Hilton lobby. I had my new book, but decided I should get up to speed on the horrible story out of Cornell. We'd be there soon and it was time to rejoin the greater world after inhabiting the smaller world of the corridor you inhabit on a long bike trip. I didn't want the pleasant reverie to end, but you have to grow up some time.  (Vaguely creepy hallway of the MKT Hilton Mt Kisco) Kisho joined me for breakfast. We debated whether to ride the shorter, hilly, and traffic-y route or backtracking the longer, flatter, and less busy route. Actually, I mostly debated myself. We chose the latter and were off just after 8:00. We were heading away from the com...

I got a rectangular cinnamon raisin scone and a cup of coffee. I texted Kisho my location then sat in the window and Wordled. It wasn't long before he ambled over. We had a nice chat over coffee. We had 40 miles to cover so we weren't in a rush. Still, coffee and baked goods consumed, we didn't feel the need to h...

I wrote the last blog entry then went out for a look at the town. Despite a heavily used main road and narrow sidewalks, it has a lot of toney shops and restaurants including a Japanese restaurant I'd like to come back to. I got back at 7:00. I wasn't expecting him to be up, but there he was all dressed and ready for breakfast. The inn had a self serve breakfast, but no Fruit Loops, powdered eggs, or u-bake waffles here. They had local yogurt with homemade granola and fresh scones. Yum! No roughing it this morning.  (Breakfast) We were ready to ride at 8:15. Kisho would ride to Poughkeepsie and assess his situation. He could take an MTA train straight into New York or continue with me. I worked out a plan to do the ride in three days instead of two. ...
